Tis that time of year again…wafflepalooza! The San Francisco Street Food Festival is once more upon us (two days away at this point) and the logistics meetings have already been completed. The shopping has been finished. The measurements have been calculated. Equipment has been purchased.
Team Pinx is deliriously working in the Waffle Cave –conversations, sprinkled with giggling and random discussions about enjoy your height, wear your heels (we have got to get more men on this team. Benjamin Button and I cannot overcome the high percentage of estrogen that saturates this Certified Woman Centric Operation). But I have to admit, the team works well together.
In every organization, whenever you get three people together you have problems. Human nature kicks in, and somewhere someone has to be the boss. Power struggles, ego, communication issues/styles, personality conflicts and the like tend to undermine the mission of the enterprise. Here though we are focused on our value proposition: delivering toe twinkling food that is both common and uncommon. Thank you Who Said So! And don’t get it wrong we have some UNIQUE personalities: Sarge, Monk, Number 2 AKA The Enforcer, Benjamin Button, Hayward’s Finest, N.A.P (the Nubian American Princess), the Uber Assistant,
Chef, and myself to name just a few. All these personalities have not always jibed together, but we get along. This company is more like a big twisted family. We can mess with each other but if somebody else messes with us, it will be all bad. I appreciate this rag tag crew of misfits. They are the best.
This is the calm before the storm. We already know that the festival is going to take a lot out of us. We have stocked up on 5 hour energy, K Cups, and Starbuck’s Gift Cards. The packing list is complete and we are ready. See you Saturday…
Life is short…eat something memorable.
