Does The Six Million Dollar Man Have Bionic Feet…and If So How Do I Get Some?

Sitting here in the rehab unit (ice bath, foot soak, icy hot, Aleve, and hot tea) trying to recuperate from the past week and refuel for the one upcoming. April has been insane! There was a span where we had 5 jobs in 7 days, and this week we are working on 6 in 7. And we are getting hit up for personal chef opportunities. Exciting times.

We had meetings with the street food capacity building mentors. From there we met with the food truck lending experts. We had a job at Healthcare Globodyne, where I ran into an old acquaintance who knew someone who was selling a food truck. We saw the truck; sadly it was not the fit for our operation. So the  search matriculates.

In the midst of all of this we have continued to field multiple jobs. The historic date last month where we served two separate customers at the same time on the same day appears to have been a precursor to our current reality. Our team has been challenged to embody Bruce Lee’s Tao: be like water. When we are in the cup, we become the cup…when we are in the bowl we become the bowl. We are in a constant state of adaptation…but it is good stuff I do declare.

Just  this week we were once more at Healthcare Globodyne for Administrative Employees appreciation week for a lunch delivery. This one went so well, I was able to handle this one solo. That was important, because we had another job that night. I returned to the waffle cave to join Chef, Number 1 and Number 2  as we put together our offerings for the Super Bank fashion show. Truth be told it was actually a fashion show put on by a Community Based Organization sponsored by Super Bank Prime. As always when there is something going on with Super Bank Prime and a Non Profit Organization, Mover and Shaker is somewhere  in the shadows pulling the puppeteer strings.

If I may take just a moment, let me say I appreciate Mover and Shaker. It is because of her pleasant pushiness that Chef and I are now Entrepreneurs. We had concepts and hospitality but not the notion that we should or could bring our love of food to others, for a small fee. But she saw something else and through
her connections, she ushered us into the world we didn’t know existed but fit us like Salted Caramel Bourbon Sauce fits Sweet Potato Pie Waffles. Look at us now.

So the reason why I am in rehab…we are beat! But we have 2 jobs coming up on Saturday and the last one for this week is on Sunday morning. Can Oscar Goldman and Rudy give me bionic feet?

Life is short…eat something memorable.
